What the web looked like in 1996

See more here.
This is pretty funny actually
At first I thought this was just dumb. But once I got past the orientation and started to look around the site, it is actually funny. And a very cool site. Be prepared to spend some time here:

Cool Stuff
Vintage Advertisements – Some very cool and interesting ads from the days of old.
A cool panorama. Give it a second to load. And if you don’t have Quicktime installed, don’t bother.
This guy pitches both ways! No that’s not a euphemism.
A man’s grill. At least they found a good use for a GTS.
I know how they did this
And it wasn’t Photoshop! This is real.

How bad is this guy’s job?

Funny Stuff
A list of humorous in-flight announcements.
The Blank Sheet of Paper Utility.
A well done political cartoon. Well done because it is both funny and true.

Cool Site
Grooveshark – Really sweet site. Search and play any song you can possibly imagine. Create your favorites list and share them with your friends.
I want to be like him when I grow up
Interesting and Amazing
During World War II the Army Corps of Engineers needed to hide the Lockheed Burbank Aircraft Plant to protect it from a Japanese air attack. They covered it with camouflage netting and trompe l’oeil to make it look like a rural subdivision from the air. Check it out.
Cute. Very Cute.

See more photos where I found this one.
Fun Stuff
I don’t know whether it is funnier that this site exists or that it is available in 8 languages?
Glenn Jones is an amazing illustrator…but it’s his humor I appreciate.
